Abstract
Müllerian agenesis, also known as Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser syndrome, results from failure of the development of the paramesonephric or müllerian ducts. It is a cause of primary amenorrhea. These patients are usually 46XX, and they present around the time of puberty with full development of secondary sexual characteristics without the occurrence of any menstrual flow. The condition is diagnosed by pelvic exam as well as ultrasound or CT scan of the pelvis. The treatment of this condition is the creation of a vagina. This can be accomplished by either mechanical dilation or surgical construction using skin grafts, or what is known as McIndoe Procedure. I will show a video of the procedure on one of our patients. I will also discuss the vault prolapse that happened in one of our cases. This is a rare phenomenon and the treatment will be discussed, including suspension of the vault of the vagina.
